Training Ground #3

With her nose in her book, she didn't notice she was here until she felt the wind hit her face, and she looked up.

What she first saw was a lake, though, it looked artificial, and her eyes moved around in the new place.

'Oh great! Now I'm lost too.. Though, this place doesn't look that bad...' She scrathced her head and laughed a little for herself. She was hillarious on getting lost. And she got lost so many times that she in the end wasn't lost anymore.

Looking around in the new area, she walked to the lake and took off her shoes and sockets, pulled up her pants and put her feets in the water.

The water was quite cold, but refreshing. She played a little with her toes in the water before picking up the book, and began reading from the beginning. She layed down and let her sore back rest against the green grass(?)

The book was interesting, and she was stuck reading it for a long while. Even if she've already rode a book about egypt before, it didn't contain any close to this much information.

She had finished the chapter about the history, when a sudden and strong headache attacked her. She was able to put away the book carefully on the ground before sinking down and held her hands on the sides of her head. It felt somewhat her head was going to explode, and like something or someone pushed her brain aside and like something was growing in there. She cursed and closed her eyes, the pain in her head making itself harder to think clearly, but she tried to remove all her thoughts from her head.

'sh*t, why can't it leave. me. alone?!'

But when she've been able to emplty her head, her headache disapeared just as sudden as she've got it, and just now she realized some warm liquid floating from her nose. She took up a tissue and dried away her noseblood, while shaking her head. She took a deep breath and calmed down herself, then she looked around to assure herself noone was present before taking up the book again and continued her reading, soon not carying about her precious hedacheattack.

"The government and economy..?" she mumbled for herself while interested reading through the headline. When she thought of that, she have never actually read about that.

Erin smiled, and when she couldn't concentrate on the book she looked up at the sky while feeling how the wind blowed in her hair. The egypts were wonders. And it was still a mystery how they've built the pyramids. Her mind about how they could have built it carried her away, and she put away the book for a moment, and looked up at the sky. But before she knew of it, she've fallen deep asleep, dreaming about coffe and pyramids.

Erin slowly woke up, and when she was fully concious she jumped up and looked around, not remembering how she got there. But when she started to remember she couldn't help herself from laughing when she realized how she've reacted. And just now she noticed how cold her legs was. She sat down again and pulled down her pants and took on her sockets and shoes, the legs almost hurting when it got this warm again. She decided to continue reading and layed down with her stomach at the ground and took up the book. She didn't really temember where she was, but she started at the biggest underline she could find.

"Natural resources" She said loudly to herself while smiling.

Embalmers used salts from the Wadi Natrun for mummification, which also provided the gypsum needed to make plaster.' she shrudded a little when she read the word mummification. Even if she was quite facinated about ancient egypt, that past made her more disgusted and scared about it. Though, she got that out of her mind and continued reading.

'The ore-bearing rock formations of ancient Egypt were found in distant, inhospitable wadis of the eastern desert and the Sinai and required large, state-controlled expeditions to obtain the gold, copper ores, and decorative stones found there. The Wadi Hammamat was a notable source of granite, greywacke, and gold. Whenever possible, prisoners and slaves were forced into mining service, but Egyptian peasants were also conscripted for this unpleasant labor.

Flint was the first mineral collected and used to make tools, and flint handaxes are the earliest pieces of evidence of habitation in the Nile valley. Nodules of the mineral were carefully flaked to make blades and arrowheads of moderate hardness and durability even after copper was adopted for this purpose. The Egyptians worked deposits of the lead ore galena at Gebel Rosas to make net sinkers, plumb bobs, and small figurines. Iron deposits found in upper Egypt were utilized in the Late Period.' she thought for a minute. 'Late period'? She thought for a minute. 'they must probably mean in the end of Ancient Egypt...'

'High-quality building stones were abundant in Egypt; the ancient Egyptians quarried limestone all along the Nile valley, granite from Aswan, and basalt and sandstone from the wadis of the eastern desert. Deposits of decorative stones such as porphyry, greywacke, alabaster, and carnelian dotted the eastern desert and were collected even before the First Dynasty. In the Ptolemaic and Roman Periods, miners worked deposits of emeralds in Wadi Sikait and amethyst in Wadi el-Hudi.

She rode the last words with care, before going to the next page. But when it was printed with the words "language", she decided to stop reading and stood up. First now she could hear how her stomach growled after food, and she agreed with it that she was hungry. She picked up her coat and pulled it on, placed the book in the pocket, where it got a perfect fit, and moved through the corridors. The only way to find the cafeteria was to 'get lost' inside there and see if she could find the delicious smell of food on her way. And when she got lost so many times she will soon be able to navigate better through the corridors. The question was just if she would reach the cafeteria in time before she got way to hungry... >>

Erin smiled as she returned to this place once again. She just loked this place. But maybe because it was alot easier to find it too...

She shaked her head a little and smiled, as she then took a nice place to sit and sat down there. She let her feets rest in the cold water as she opened the book and began reading.

Erin smiled as she simply enjoyed the moment and continued to read, as she then took off her scarf that she usually had knitten around her head and put it on the ground. She smiled as she continued to read the book. It was interesting, and she didn't read horror so often.

Erin hurled upp her knees to her chest when she read the book. It had totaly swallowed her, and she couldn't even look at another direction as she did read the book.

It was somewhat like a zombiebook, the one when you think everything is alright, but then they appear of nowhere from places you never would expect to see them. Erin held the book right under her nose as she expected it to protect her from zombies. She got to the next page, when she felt something behind her. She froze. Zombie..? She took a deep breath and gluped and collected courage to look behind her.

There was nothing there.

Feeling a bit pathetic over this, she let out a nervous laughter and continues to read. She've now got almost to the end of the book, and in that place when it's as worst. She read concentrated and almost didn't dare to breath, when she felt something cold tap her shoulder.

"WA WA WA WA WA WAAAH!" She jumped up to her feets and turned around.

Nothing there.

She desperatly looked around and held the book tight, her finger as a bookmark, when she noticed something strange on her shouler. She turned around.

it was a leaf. One single harmless little leaf.

She bumped herself to the ground and laughed a bit, first a bit nervous, but then because she were so phatethic.

Laying on the cold ground, she opened her book and read concentrated for the last pages, and the book weren't so scary when she've destroyed the mood.

Erin continued to read, and it was a bit hard to keep her mind on her book. But she was determinded to read through it, and then go and order or see if they had any new shirts and pants in the city to sell her.

Soon she came into the more calm side of book, and everything got fixed, or at least everything that wasn't dead. Erin sighted and closed the book, happy over that she've read through the book. And she also thought for herself that she NEVER will read a horrorbook anytime again. Or anytime soon.

She stood up and wiped away the dirt from her cloak and began to walk to the science department, her hands going into her pocket to find her purse.

((Sorry, had to narrate that she got through the book, even if it's your job to do that >->; Otherwise this little post would get unaturally short T^T;; ))

Leigh looked around, admiring the beauty of the lake.

"Wow, the order really goes all out for this kind of thing huh?" she wondered aloud as she pulled off her sweater and bandna, revealing her long brow hair and scars criss-crossing up and down her bare arms. she rubbed them thoughtfully for a moment before starting the exersizes she had been taught by her father long ago, wondering if an instructor would come along and give her some pointers ((Hint hint)).

Leigh cried out in surprise, losing her balance and falling flat on her face. hmm maybe doing hand stand push ups wasnt such a good idea... Leigh pushed herself up, rubbing her nose tenderly.

"Uhmm, Hi, Im Leigh, Leigh Boyd!" she smiled sheepishly, jumping up with a grin, "I'm a new finder, and I just got my artifical Innocence! I was just doing some warm ups before the instructor got here... Are you her?" she asked with an inquisitve smile.

Leigh raised her eyebrow in an amused gesture,

"I got the dagger, and I should tell you that I already have an extensive back ground in martial arts, so dont go easy on me!" the bandna headed girl smiled as she produced the weapon koumi had given her

Leigh smiled and nodded, taking a fighting stance and remembered everything her father had taught her. Leigh closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath, before snapping them open and charging at the puppet with a battle cry.

as she ran towards the puppet, she spun the dagger in her hand so the blade was horizontal with the ground, angling her body so she could use the extra momentum to stab as deeply as possible. Leigh reach the puppet and attempted to stab it.

Leigh smiled and nodded, "Thats a really good idea!" she said, running to the spot the instructor had pointed. the puppet swung towards her and Leigh dodged, studying its movements, before Lunging at it as it began to swing back. Leigh attempted to slash the puttet in the neck, and hoped her attack struck true.
