| I wanted to start discussing FMA considering there are many topics to discuss concerning this one series. The plotline of the anime/the manga, differences of the manga and anime, the characters, and the novels are a few things. I don't really mind what is discussed, but I've really been aching to talk to at least one person about it. (My friends don't really read/watch FMA.) | |

I’m glad he got more screen time in the anime, though like that time in the train ^^ He was really cool there ^^
Just to mention, I love you for creating this topic XD I would have, but… but… I guess I might take Sloth’s place XD *too lazy to explain any further*
And just to say my opinion, I believe the manga is like a 13763452394624 times better than the anime. It was so filer-ish >.< Like, what was with this Dante… and is it me, or is there way TOO much romantic in there for a shonen anime? Like with DantexHoenheim for example x.O And that freak from the filler with the blue roses… Also I didn’t like how they made up that entire thing with Tucker… - Spoiler:
He was supposed to die together with the Nina-chimera, not be turned into some crazy chimera himself…
I understand that he was crazy and so, but I “think” they went too far in the anime >.>
Also I didn’t like the thing with - Spoiler:
the Homunculi being created by failed human transmutation or their weakness being their original body…
Sounds too… Un-alchemic if you ask me…
And Envy being like… - Spoiler:
Ed and Al’s half brother…
WTF!? That totally freaked me out…
I didn’t like Wrath from the anime as well. He was… well … *can’t find a word to describe it* - Spoiler:
What was with him using alchemy, anyway!? It sounds stupid to be able to do something just because you have the arm and the leg of someone who can…
But I must say that Roy with an eye patch was quite the… nice sight if you ask me ^w^ *fangirls over it*
I didn’t like the end of the anime, either. - Spoiler:
Seriously, Al sacrificing himself to bring back Ed and then Ed doing the same thing…
that’s plain… stupid…
All in all the anime was a disappointment, but it had its moments. I was curious to see what kind of plot they had thought up for it but if you ask me it can never compare with the manga.

| I agree, both about Hughes and the disappointments of the anime. You brought up a lot of points that I find myself not being able to cope with. Another bad thing about the anime was that it seemed to try to follow the novels more than the manga. I wouldn't mind an episode based on the novel, but if they're going to do that, then at least try to include the manga. As for the end, it was pretty repetitive. It was as if going back to the 'Mother' episode. About the Homunculus--I can't believe how they messed it up. - Spoiler:
Bradley was supposed to be Wrath, not some creepy Envy-wannabe. His 'son' was supposed to be Pride, and he makes a better Pride than Bradley in my opinion. Sloth being Ed and Al's mother was weird, and they never even showed the new Greed.
I guess the anime would be good for someone who hadn't read the manga, but otherwise, it may be hard to sit through. | |

Well, yes, I didn’t like the anime all that much mainly because I had read the manga before watching it and knew what was supposed to happen and when everything got messed up and it somehow annoyed me at how different it was. But if I had never read the manga beforehand I believe I would have liked the anime quite a lot.
Btw is it me, or have they made Ed a little... I'd say nicer for the lack of a better word in the anime than he is in the manga? Or is it just my imagination? …
I liked the movie to some extend. It wasn’t that bad… - Spoiler:
It was an interesting thing to see everyone a little grown up, though I didn’t like that “take over both worlds” thing… Sounded too cliché… Though, after they went trough all of that trouble reaching Eckhart I expected something like a great battle or something… And I really think that Ed gave up too easily on staying in his world. Seriously, wouldn’t it work if they had destroyed the gate on only one of the sides?
But despite the complains of the anime and the movie I fell in love with the manga XD It’s one of the best I’ve read and the story got quite interesting in the last 20 or so chapters. Seriously, who would have thought that- Spoiler:
Amestris was created to become an alchemical circle for the Philosopher’s stone?
And about Hohenheim’s past… That was really something. - Spoiler:
/I wonder how a person whose body is a Philosopher’s stone can have children x.O I mean, doesn’t that make Ed and Al half human or something X.x Weird…/ Oh and I really wonder what’s going to happen now when Ed met Ling again... And I wonder whether Envy will get a new stone…
I hope not, even though I like him as a character. It would be too much if they have to fight against him again x.X just repeating the same battle won’t be any interesting. -.-
Btw what do you think Hohenheim meant by - Spoiler:
“Don’t be so focused on what’s at your feet. Look up. There are things to be seen above you, too.” Maybe the activation of the circle has something to do with the other planets or something and that’s why they’re waiting for a certain day?
That’s all I can come up with… I really ant to see the next chapter >.<

Like the fact that Ed could survive jumping from an airplane and crashing through the glass of a tall building. o.O
I still enjoyed it, though. I was surprised at the turn of events in the manga, too. Everything that happened added so many twists without getting completely ridiculous. - Spoiler:
I think Al asked a question like that, right? Something about how that may mean that they are not fully human? And about what Hohenheim said--Either he's being literal and it has something to do with the sky/space, or he was just saying that you also have to prepare for what's least expected.
And I think Ed really is meaner in the manga. He seems more intent on his own goals and less on helping others in the manga. I know that FMA is released in Monthly Shounen Gangan, but I've never exactly paid attention. I guess you just have to see when the last release was and it should be released in monthly intervals based on that. (I don't think they're always released on the exact same day, though I may be wrong.) | |

(Which I tried to explain that it had nothing to do with the manga, but was completely ignored...=.=) | |
