Erin Hall's room Empty
PostSubject: Erin Hall's room   Erin Hall's room Icon_minitimeSat 12 Jul 2008, 23:08

The room looks Regular. As it haven't been used for very long, it is still quite empty.

Coming in through the door, there is a corner where Erin usually throws her shoes. Entering the room, she has a bed in the right corner, seen from the door. The bed is quite dull and normal. The construction of the bed is worked out from black, simple steel. The covers and pillow is simply white. But next to the pillow she have put a plushie she loves.

At the end of the bed, there is a chair resting, usually having her old clothes on it, even if her wardrobe is just next to it. The window have no curtains, though, some flowerpots with green plants rest on the small windowsill.

As no curtains is there to block out the sunlight, the room looks very bright most of the time. And usually she never have to have the lights on to see her desk. Against the left wall, seen from the door, there is a small, simple desk. She has a bookshelf next to the desk where she usually puts books she have borrowed, and some boxes under the table where she can put things she want to save. The desk's leg is also black steel, similar to the bed. But the desk' workingspace is made of wood and collored white. On here she usually have some sheet of paper and some Ink.

To the left side of the desk there is a door to a small bathroom. Entering the bathroom it is very small. Straight forward from the door there is a small tube with a shower, in front of it, squeezed between the door and the tube, there is a handbasin. And to the free wall, someone have squeezed a small toiletseat.

But Erin have always wondered about this room, as it have no window, and it gets pitch black each time she uses it. Therefore she usually lits up some candles when she will use it.

Back to the room where she lives, the only thing left to describe is that the room is painted of white color (though, it's almost yellow by now) and probably made by stone, and the floor is also made of stone. It could be cement too, but it's hard to say. Or hard to see due the room is very small. Not small. Very small.

In the room of Erin Hall could be spotted something new. Two towers of books placed next to her bed and you could see clearly that each tower was higher than the bed itself. The poor girl had to read them all in just one months time...

Erin looked at the finder like she was a dead zombie, and shrudded with her shoulders. "I don't know... Fish possible? And feel free to give me anything with sugar. Sugarbombs. Or coffe with much sugar. I have a feeling I will need that energy."

With that she walked to the bathroom quickly. Washing her face she dried it with a tovel. That is the last, LAST time I will grin like a idiot for so long...

She then left the bathroom and took on her regular smile. "Thank you by the way."

Taking a look at the list, she searched for the book called World history, and then sat down on her bed and began reading.

Happy that she always had liked to read in her childhood, she soon sinked into the book and got oblivious of her surroundings.

((what should I write for each book? XDD ))

The finder nodded and before he left, he added
- I'm Mick by the way. You can call me all the time for everything.
And with that he left, only to return in fifteen minutes with the wanted fish with roast potatoes, salad, and desert.
- Eat well. After you read a book, you might need a little stroll, or else you won't be able to get up. Razz

Erin smiled and was to intruduce herself for Mick. But she couldn't get out of the book, and when she had he was long gone.

And when he came, she just smiled and mumbled thanks. And soon was she able to look up. "Sorry. Never intruduced myself. I'm Erin."

hearing his advice, Erin just snorted and shoke her head. Like I have time for that!

Getting back to the book, Erin sighed.

((Uh oh. Now comes my skills of remember. XD. Won't go good. ))

The book contained information from the first known ages and to now. It hield also some brief information about most of the wars.

Erin smiled as she read about the stoneage. That they didn't have houses, no transport, no classes... Everyone just lived for surevival each day. Thinking about how much the world had changed did actually interest Erin.

As she continued to read a smile was on her lips.

When she got to the religions Erin yawned a little. Searching for her food, she began to eat it. It was indeed a little cold, but good enough for her.

Looking back at the text Erin smiled as she read about buddism. They had always been peacefull. No holy wars.

And the politican revulutions just made Erin sigh. War and war. Why could they not just get along enough to just talk through it?

But she soon reached to the industrial revulotion. But she knew it was happening now, so it was an unfinished chapter.

Sighing, Erin leaned back to her bed and stretched.

((Well. Becasue it is around 1800 I don't know what more to write about. And hey! World war II is in the 19! XDD ))

The book was now in her head... to the most part... The door just opened and a new set of food was delivered to be digested. There was even five bottles of different types of drink: water, cola, apple juice, tee and fresh orange juice. With all these to drink, perhaps her escape from immobilizing would be easy! All she has to do is go to the rest room and her walk for a stretch up would be done!

((Ah, sorry... Have a d*mn heavy migraine now... x___x;; ))

Erin looked at the foor tiredly and then moved by the plan, and picked the orange juice xD.

She then took the next book in the pile. She looked at the book about middle ages.

She flickered through the first pages and read;

"The Middle Ages form the middle period in a traditional schematic division of European history into three "ages": the classical civilization of Antiquity, the Middle Ages and Modern Times. The idea of such a periodisation is attributed to Flavio Biondo, an Italian Renaissance humanist historian.

The Middle Ages are commonly dated from the fall of the Western Roman Empire (or by some scholars, before that) in the 5th century to the beginning of the Early Modern Period in the 16th century, marked by the rise of nation-states, the division of Western Christianity in the Reformation, the rise of humanism in the Italian Renaissance, and the beginnings of European overseas expansion which allowed for the Columbian Exchange. There is some variation in the dating of the edges of these periods which is due mainly to differences in specialization and focus of individual scholars. Commonly seen periodization ranges span the years ca. 400–476 AD (the sackings of Rome by the Visigoths to the deposing of Romulus Augustus) to ca. 1453–1517 (the Fall of Constantinople to the Protestant Reformation begun with Martin Luther's Ninety-Five Theses). Dates are approximate, and are based upon nuanced arguments; for other dating schemes and the reasoning behind them, see "periodisation issues", below.

The Middle Ages witnessed the first sustained urbanization of northern and western Europe. Many modern European states owe their origins to events unfolding in the Middle Ages; present European political boundaries are, in many regards, the result of the military and dynastic achievements during this tumultuous period."

After that was rows of chapters, and she could just read through them while drinking her juice, and soon her tea.

(( Evil XDDD ))

Erin smiled and put back the book, and yawned. It was going well... What could the clock be now?

But then she noticed serveral plates and sweatdropped. Walking to get some of the coke and some food, she picked the third book on the list.

"World War I was a war fought by a lot of countries, which is why it is called a "world" war. It started in 1914 and it ended in 1919. Other names it has been called are The Great War and The War to End all Wars. 135 countries took part in World War I, and more than 40 million deaths happened during this time.

World War I was fought through most of the continent of Europe. The actual fighting that happened during the war was fought amongst many different fronts. The Western Front was where most of the fighting between Germany and the Allies happened. The system of trenches marked the Western Front as the Western Front. There was also a no man's land that broke into this area. Most of the fighting that happened in this area was trench warfare. The Eastern Front was fought in Central and Eastern Europe and was one of the main places where World War I took place. The fighting done on the Eastern Front was not trench warfare like it was on the Western Front, but instead depended on having frontlines of soldiers ready to fight the opposer. The other fronts that had a lot of fighting includes the Middle Eastern Front and the Italian Front.

The war was ended by the signing of many different treaties, the most important being the Treaty of Versailles.

World War I was the first war where tanks, aeroplanes, and submarines, or underwater boats (U-boats) were used as common weapons"

Erin sighed by the prolouge and began reading xD.

((Hahhaha xD Sorry. I just write prolouges all the time XD ))

(( You laugh at me now, don't you? XD *laughs myself* ))

Erin sighed and resisted the urge to throw away the book with wars, as she took the next one.

"In mid-1937, following the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, Japan began a full invasion of China. The Soviets quickly lent support to China, effectively ending China's prior cooperation with Germany. Starting at Shanghai, the Japanese pushed Chinese forces back, capturing the capital Nanjing in December. In June of 1938 Chinese forces stalled the Japanese advance by flooding the Yellow River; though this bought time to prepare their defenses at Wuhan, the city was still taken by October. During this time, Japanese and Soviet forces engaged in a minor skirmish at Lake Khasan; in May of 1939, they became involved in a more serious border war.

In Europe, Germany and Italy were becoming bolder. In March 1938, Germany annexed Austria, again provoking little response from other European powers. Encouraged, Hitler began making claims on the Sudetenland; France and Britain conceded these for a promise of no further territorial demands. Germany soon reneged, and in March 1939 fully occupied Czechoslovakia.

Soviet and German officers in Poland.Alarmed, and with Hitler making further demands on Danzig, France and Britain guaranteed their support for Polish independence; when Italy conquered Albania in April, the same guarantee was extended to Romania and Greece. The Soviet Union also attempted to ally with France and Britain, but was rebuffed due to western suspicions about Soviet motives and capability. Shortly after the Franco-British pledges to Poland, Germany and Italy formalized their own alliance with the Pact of Steel; following this, in a move that shocked all other major powers, Germany and the Soviet Union concluded a non-aggression pact, including a secret agreement to split Poland and eastern Europe between them.

By the start of September 1939, the Soviets had routed Japanese forces and the Germans invaded Poland. France, Britain, and the countries of the Commonwealth declared war on Germany but lent little support other than a small French attack into the Saarland. In mid-September, after signing an armistice with Japan, the Soviets launched their own invasion of Poland. By early October, Poland had been divided between Germany and the Soviet Union. During the battle in Poland, Japan launched its first attack against Changsha, a strategically important Chinese city, but was repulsed by early October."

((Hahaha XD. Sorry for late reply. Many things got in mah wai =A=))

Erin smiled as she got to the book about the east, and walked to the other side of the room to get some of her food and something hot to drink. Back to the bed she opened the book "History of the East" and the first chapter was about Asia.

"The coastal periphery was the home to some of the world's earliest known civilizations, with each of the three regions developing early civilizations around fertile river valleys. The civilizations in Mesopotamia, the Indus Valley, and China shared many similarities and likely exchanged technologies and ideas such as mathematics and the wheel. Other notions such as that of writing likely developed individually in each area. Cities, states and then empires developed in these lowlands.

The steppe region had long been inhabited by mounted nomads, and from the central steppes they could reach all areas of the Asian continent. The earliest known such central expansion out of the steppe is that of the Indo-Europeans which spread their languages into the Middle East, India, and in the Tocharians to the borders of China. The northern part of the continent, covering much of Siberia was also inaccessible to the steppe nomads due to the dense forests and the tundra. These areas were very sparsely populated.

The centre and periphery were kept separate by mountains and deserts. The Caucasus, Himalaya, Karakum Desert, and Gobi Desert formed barriers that the steppe horsemen could only cross with difficulty. While technologically and culturally the city dwellers were more advanced, they could do little militarily to defend against the mounted hordes of the steppe. However, the lowlands did not have enough open grasslands to support a large horsebound force. Thus the nomads who conquered states in China, India, and the Middle East were soon forced to adapt to the local societies."

Erin sighed as she got to the European changes. Opening the book she sighed and began reading. What could the clock possible be now?

But this time Erin felt how her gaze began to dissapear and get unfocused. Cursing she moved to the bathroom, washed her face cold, and then got back. Reading again, she found it easier to focus again.

It began from the beginning of the earth. ha ha... Erin sighed as she read of how the monkeys-on-two-legs had spread all over the world. But she rolled her eyes as she read about the war. Well, it was possible that many things got invented with wars. But it was so unneciseary.

Coming to the time now, Erin smiled as she read about the beggining of another revolution that wasn't soo bloody. xD

Erin smiled as she got to the next book, fedural Era.

Realizing the pile had decreased a little, Erin smiled wider and decided to take some chicken that was still hot.

Reading the first text, it was just about basic Feudalism.

"Feudalism, a term first used in the modern period (17th century), in its most classic sense refers to a Medieval Europe political system comprised of a set of reciprocal legal and military obligations among the warrior nobility, revolving around the three key concepts of lords, vassals, and fiefs. It often occurs alongside Manorialism.

Although derived from the Latin word feodum (fief), then in use, the term feudalism and the "system" it purports to describe were not conceived of as a formal political system by the people living in the Medieval Period.

Defining feudalism requires qualifiers because there is not a broadly accepted agreement of what it means. In order to understand feudalism, a working definition is desirable and the definition described in this article is the most senior and classic definition still subscribed to by many historians.

Outside of a European context, the concept of feudalism is normally used only by analogy (called semi-feudal), most often in discussions of Japan under the shoguns, and, sometimes, medieval and Gondarine Ethiopia. However, some have taken the feudalism analogy further, seeing it in places as diverse as Ancient Egypt, Parthian empire, India and Pakistan, to the American South of the nineteenth century. The term feudal has also been applied—often inappropriately or pejoratively—to non-Western societies where institutions and attitudes similar to those of medieval Europe are perceived to prevail. Ultimately, the many ways the term feudalism has been used has deprived it of specific meaning, leading many historians and political theorists to reject it as a useful concept for understanding society."

((Woho... xD It's going great for me. Wah. To lazy to read about america, I will write what I know XD))

erin smiled as she got the new book; The birth of Amerika, but a small sting of homelonging hit her.

She ate some more of her food as she read. She had heard stories that people living in sweden usually moved there. The ground there was good for planting and there was much land to grab. They was even able to get slaves cheap at times.

Sighing she read through everything and got almost everything comfirmed too. But she was a little suprised as there had been people living in America before. Well, she had heard stories of it, but getting it comfirmed was something else.

but Erin smiled a little. But the stories back home Vikings was the first people to reach America. Ha. d*mn historians.

She then continued to read and didn't notice much how dull her feets got xD.

((No offence to any american here XD. Sowwieh. ))

Erin goraned as she reached for the next book; Brittish culture.

Erin yawned as it was very, very many names in this book. But useing the locus method, she was able to remember all of them. THe story was long, but interesting.

Erin had dnver thought it would be so many fights of the throne. And almost always was the ruling queens the best ones too. Smiling she stood up from the bed, her nose behind the book, as she began stroding around in the room while reading, as she noticed her legs almost hurt by now. How long had she really red? Since birth? ... Sounds logical to me XD.

Erin Yelped and fell down, first crashing with the wall or the door, sank down to the floor, as her book proudly fell on her butt that was the highest point of her now.

Mumbling and rubbing her sore head, she then sat down on the floor and picked the new book XD.

Back to the Asian, but this time culture, Erin sighed.

Well it was interesting - the first time you read it. After have been reading so many books about Asia Erin began to grow bored.

Reading she then took the first thing she could grab and began eating on it.

The culture was though very beautifull. With all geishas and samurais it had got so close to perfection that's possible - even if she wasn't very found of perfection.
